Adding videos to a Lot

Adding videos can greatly enhance a description and provide bidders with a clearer understanding of the item, which might not be fully conveyed through pictures alone.

Here's how to add a video to an item on Equip-Bid:

How to Add a Video to an Item

  1. Upload the Video to YouTube:
    • Use YouTube for uploading your video. It is user-friendly and offers straightforward instructions.
    • Most phones allow direct video uploads to YouTube in just a few clicks.
    • Creating a YouTube channel helps store and manage all your videos in one place.
    • For more information on using YouTube and to set up an account, refer to YouTube's Getting Started Guide.
  2. Navigate to the Edit Item Page:
    • Go to the Edit page of the lot by clicking on the lot number, or create a new lot if it has not been created yet.
  3. Locate the YouTube Video Upload Option:
    • On the Edit Item page, you will see the option to add up to 3 YouTube videos.
  4. Insert the YouTube URL:
    • Navigate to the video on YouTube so you can view it as a regular viewer.
    • Copy the URL of the video from the browser's address bar (do not use the Share or Embed URL from YouTube's share options, as these will not work within Equip-Bid).
  5. Paste the URL and Name the Video:
    • Paste the URL into the YouTube URL field.
    • Enter a descriptive name in the YouTube Name field (e.g., "2005 JD Tractor").
  6. Save the Item:
    • Once saved, the video will be embedded directly into the item description.
    • Check the item to ensure the correct video is attached and everything is functioning properly.

By following these steps, affiliates can successfully add videos to their lot descriptions, providing potential buyers with a more comprehensive view of the items being sold.
